Winter is coming

I've been updating the website this week and hopefully you will like the new bits that have been added.

I can't believe that the main school holidays for England and Wales are booked up for 2017, we still have some availability for the Scotland holidays. The guests we have had in this year have all been really lovely.

About half of our guests have come because we are dog friendly, but the guests without dog have all commented on how nice the caravan is, and how you'd never know that we have had guests with pets staying at the caravan.

We only have a few weeks left before the end of the 2016 season, although we do have some guests wanting a few days away in December. Its so much quieter and more peaceful on site in the winter, all the facilities are closed but there is plenty to do in Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington. Not that we notice the noise etc during the season as "The Lakes" is a quiet area, great for families with small children, couples who don't want all the bustle of the main complex and dog owners, we are near the owners golf course and in an ideal dog walking area.

Our labrador really enjoyed his trips to the beach when we had a caravan nearer Scarborough and we thought that he would have so much fun up near Filey, however in August, we lost him after a short illness. The little dogs have just about got used to him not being there although it is still strange for us.

We will be up with our little dogs at the end of the season, they are looking forwards to nice long walks along the beach at Hummanby Gap, North Landing and Scarborough south bay. Although they don't always enjoy the bath when they get home a bit wet and sandy!
