Summer Holidays
Over the summer, we managed to have a few days at the caravan ourselves, due to a last minute cancellation.
It was baby Anna's first summer holiday.
Packing for baby was so much easier for us as there is a travel cot, high chair, baby bath and changing mat in the caravan so there was no need to carry all the bulky necessities for a baby. A far cry from her mummy's first holiday where we had 2 cars. One boot full of the luggage for 4 adults and the other one just had the baby things.
We had the last few days of the glorious weather and really made the most of it
as we revisited some of the great attractions of the area that are ideal for a young family to visit.
Anna's favourite was the sea life centre with all the tanks of brightly coloured fish, and the jelly fish tanks in all different colours as you can see. She also enjoyed looking at the seals, penguins and otters in the outside area. On a sad note however, Anna saw Bruno, the oldest seal at Sealife and Anna's mummy's favourite seal. Just over a week after our visit, Bruno sadly passed away due to old age. We will have to see who becomes Anna' favourite as she gets older.
I'm thinking of adding a list of local attractions to the website, ones that are dog friendly and ones that cater for the youngest visitors like Anna. I would like to make it into a list that people can add to as they find other child and or pet friendly places in the area. For instance, did you know that dogs are allowed into the English heritage sites at Scarborough Castle and Whitby Abbey (although they do have to be carried through the visitors centre at the Abbey, so its not suitable for big dogs unless you are really strong!)
